Carlton partnered with AID Atlanta to help their mission to reduce new HIV infections and improve the quality of life of its members and the community by breaking barriers and building community. The campaign, From Where I Stand, is an effort to reach young black gay men and show that “the stories of young black gay men cannot be told through statistics.”

The motivation behind AID Atlanta's From Where I Stand campaign came from a new study released Aug. 3, 2011 by the Centers for Disease Control showing a 48% increase in the number of new HIV/AIDS infections (2006-2009) among black men who have sex with men.
